The Ronald D. Sanders design features the nationally protected landscape of the Current and Jack Forks rivers. The coin’s reverse depicts Alley Mill, a famous convertor of wheat to flour. Along with the historic depiction of Alley Mill, “OZARK RIVERWAYS,” “MISSOURI,” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM” are inscribed around the coin, along with the year, “2017.”
The obverse of each coin features the traditional quarter obverse- the John Flanagan design, used since 1932, is the staple obverse. Inscriptions include, “THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “QUARTER DOLLAR,” “LIBERTY,” and, “IN GOD WE TRUST.”
