2015 1 oz Canadian Silver Red-Tailed Hawk Birds of Prey

The 2015 1 oz Silver Red-Tailed Hawk is the third release in the Royal Canadian Mint’s Birds of Prey series. Each coin contains 1 ounce of .9999 fine silver and carries a $5 denomination. The silver Red-Tailed Hawk is the penultimate release in the Royal Canadian Mint’s four coin Birds of Prey series. Like the other silver coins in this series, the Red-Tailed Hawk is intricately sculpted to capture the beauty of this bird in flight. And like the previous coins in this series, world wide mintage is limited to 1,000,000.<br />

The reverse of this silver coin features a red-tailed hawk diving toward its prey. The design – sculpted by Emily Damstra -- is surrounded by the inscriptions “CANADA, 9999” and “FINE SILVER 1 OZ ARGENT PUR”. The obverse of the coin carries Susanna Blunt’s portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. “ELIZABETH II, 5 DOLLARS” and “2015” are inscribed around the profile of Queen Elizabeth.<br />
