Item description

Antiques nimbus, a a solid disk of silver behind the head of a saint (cf. last picture). The aureole is dated 1851 by an inscription. From marks and work quality it is clear that it was built in southern Italy before 1860 (at that time Kingdom of the Two Sicilies). There are also the initial of the artist: "VS". This work is handmade and unique, according to the technologies of that time.
