It was not an easy thing to do. The reason being that once I progressed to the next level in the
trading journey and learned my lessons, I wanted to forget about the previous mistakes and
painful experiences. I locked up my old notes, old journals, painful experiences, etc that were
not useful to me anymore. That allowed me to compartmentalize and to focus on the current
trading moment and the near future, which is where the trades get placed that make money.
As I am writing this in 2011 and 2012, the financial crisis of 2008 has abated, but unemployment
is still painfully high in many states and countries around the world. Many people still remember
when their retirement savings in the stock market temporarily dropped by over 50% in value.
People are looking for alternative ways to generate income and wealth. With the rise of the
information age, the financial markets, especially the currency markets have been made available
to the average individual. Previously, the currency markets were only available to high net worth
clients, hedge funds and institutions with millions of dollars. Now, anyone with $50 and an
internet connection can start placing bets in the currency markets.
